[00:22.74]While John Gilbert was in hospital,
[00:25.56]he asked his doctor to tell him whether his operation had been successful,
[00:30.64]but the doctor refused to do so.
[00:33.60]The following day,the patient asked for a bedside telephone.
[00:38.75]When he was alone,
[00:40.13]he telephoned the hospital exchange and asked for Doctor Millington.
[00:45.32]When the doctor answered the phone,
[00:47.39]Mr.Gilbert said he was inquiring about a certain patient,a Mr.John Gilbert.

[00:57.96]and the doctor told him that it had been.
